Genomics Core
The Scripps Research Genomics Core Facility housed in the Skaggs/MB building Rm 28, provides a variety of genomics related services including Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), single cell RNAseq and immuno-sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, custom microarray fabrication/analysis and quantitative and digital PCR. Our facility has extensive experience in NGS experimental design, preparation of sequencing libraries, custom microarray fabrication as well as novel sequencing technology applications. Our core provides assistance involving genomics technologies such as; experimental design, grant applications, interpretation of sequencing and microarray results and education of students, staff and faculty.
The Genomics Core Facility, established in 2008, focuses on Genomics Technologies including next generation sequencing, single cell genomics, spatial transcriptomics/protein profiling, qPCR, ddPCR and microarray fabrication/analysis. We are a full-service operation and can assist in experimental design, library preparation and sequencing,
The Genomics Core is equipped with a variety of instruments including sequencing instruments; Illumina NextSeq2000, MiSeq, NovaSeq6000 and Oxford Nanopore MinIon, 10X Genomics Chromium X, Nanstring GeoMX, Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100 and Tapestation, ThermoFisher Qubit and Fluoroskan, Covaris-DNA shearing unltrasonicator, QuantStudio Pro6 qPCR, Biorad QX200 ddPCR, high-throughput liquid handling systems EPmotion and SPTLabtech Mosquito HV, MicroGridII contact microarray printer, Innoscan 1100AL confocal microarray scanner.
We encourage parties interested in using our facility to set up a meeting with Steven Head, call (858) 784-2263 or internal 4-2263, to discuss details and specifics experimental design sample preparation and cost.

How to Submit a Sample Submission Request Form to the Genomics Core Facility for Internal Users.
Here is the link to access the Idea Elan Infinity database, https://secure21.ideaelan.com/secure/public/applogin.aspx. Once you register in the new database please go to your "Home Page," and select "Facilities"(as seen below). Next you will select “Request Access,” to the Core and we will approve your access asap. Once you are a user of the facility and would like to submit an NGS form for services to the Genomics Core, you will find the NGS form under "Request Services." If you have any questions or issues with using Elan Infinity or if you are an external customer, please contact Sheila (shkay@scripps.edu ; (858) 784-2263 or 2084) for assistance.
