Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

The NMR Facility houses a total of six NMR spectrometers;

• Bruker AVIII HD 600 NMR spectrometer equipped with a 5 mm CPQCI (H-C-N-P) CryoProbe and a SampleCase-24 sample changer. This spectrometer also has a 1.7 mm CPTCI (H-C-N) CryoProbe. This probe can be installed upon requested for experiments on micro-gram scale compounds.

• Bruker AVIII HD 600 NMR spectrometer equipped with a 5 mm CPDCH (C-H) CryoProbe. This CryoProbe provides high sensitivity for C-13 NMR experiments.

• Bruker AV NEO 500 NMR spectrometer with a 5 mm BBFO Smart Probe and a SampleCase-24 sample changer.

• Bruker AVIII 400 NMR spectrometer equipped with a 5 MM BBFO probe and a B-ACS 120 sample changer.

• Bruker AV NEO 399 NMR spectrometer equipped with a 5 mm BBFO Smart Probe. All BBFO probes have the capabilities to perform NMR experiments on nuclei with resonance frequencies between Ag-109 and P-31, as well as H-1 and F-19.

• JEOL JNM-ECZ400R NMR spectrometer equipped with a Royal HFX probe and an Auto Sample Changer for 64 samples. This three-channel system is capable of observing X nucleus resonance with simultaneous H-1 and F-19 decoupling.

All NMR spectrometers are set up for routine high resolution solution state 1D and 2D NMR experiments.
