Campus Safety

Some examples of the services we provide are:

• Security Officers are available to escort employees to locations on Scripps Research campus.

• Security Officers are available to jumpstart employee and visitor vehicles on request.

• Security Services is the custodian of found property.

• Scripps Research Security Officers patrol all Scripps Research facilities.

• We investigate thefts and other incidents, and act as a liaison with state and local police agencies. The San Diego Police Department is the primary reporting and investigating agency for any crime that might occur on the La Jolla, California, campus. Scripps Research encourages prompt and accurate reporting of all crimes to Security Services and the appropriate police department.

• Security Services is often the first responder in any type of criminal act or emergency occurring on campus.

• Security Officers will respond to the scene and, if required, coordinate the response of San Diego police, fire or paramedics. If necessary, Security Services will also activate the Scripps Research Emergency Response Plan.
