Endowing a Chair in Honor of K. Barry Sharpless

You’re invited to join a collective effort to establish the Barry Sharpless Endowed Chair at Scripps Research in honor of K. Barry Sharpless, W. M. Keck Professor of Chemistry and two-time Nobel laureate. Throughout his career, Barry has transformed the field of chemistry through pioneering discoveries and an unwavering commitment to scientific excellence.

This chair will support a mid-career assistant or associate professor affiliated with the Department of Chemistry for a four-year term, after which it will rotate to another rising faculty leader. Strategic support at this pivotal career stage empowers promising scientists to reach tenure and accelerate the next generation of discovery.
