Pete Schultz Endowed Fund for Innovative Research

Thank you for considering making a gift to this collective effort to establish a named endowed fund in honor of President and CEO Pete Schultz, the L.S. “Sam” Skaggs Presidential Chair.

The Pete Schultz Endowed Fund for Innovative Research celebrates Pete’s legacy as well as two momentous occasions he is celebrating in 2026: his 10th anniversary as Scripps’ leader and a milestone birthday. The Fund is intended to carry forward the principles that have guided Pete’s career, supporting high-risk, high-reward approaches to scientific challenges and the researchers whose work shows exceptional promise. The Fund will provide research funding, via a nomination process, for 1-2 Schultz Innovative Investigator Award recipients, who will hold the awards for three years.
