Senior Director of Digital Medicine, Scripps Research

Jay Pandit completed his medical degree and internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco. He then completed his cardiovascular diseases fellowship at Northwestern University, during which he developed a novel approach to cuffless blood pressure monitoring. His research evolved into the field of remote patient monitoring and utilizing noninvasive sensor-based biometrics for clinical decision making. He has received National Science Foundation and American Heart Association grant support for his work with cuffless blood pressure monitoring. He has also led several multi-disciplinary teams and studies for novel wearable or sensor-based approaches for chronic disease management. Before moving to San Diego, he functioned as the Medical Director for Research at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute’s West Region and Faculty Director of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine’s NUvention Medical Biodesign Program.

Pandit joined Scripps Research in 2021 to provide medical oversight for research programs under the Scripps Research Digital Trials Center. Additionally, he provides input for the All of Us Research Program and leads digital medicine research efforts for the Scripps Research “hub” of the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) program. His team focuses on the re-imagining of health and healthcare that is made possible through the evidence-based incorporation of digital technologies.
