Research Focus
My research focuses on studying disease mechanisms at the molecular level. My research is centered around innate immune pathways and their implications in autoimmunity, cancer and viral infection. One of my primary interests lies in unraveling the intricate ways in which innate immune surveillance operates on amyloidosis- a pathological hall mark of neurodegenerative disease (ND). My focus extends to understand detection of amyloids and a feedback loop between amyloidosis and neuroinflammation, a pivotal driver of NDs and develop a small molecule targeting immune surveillance machinery to break the loop.
In addition, my research endeavors aim to harness the therapeutic potential of small molecule modulators of innate immune pathways, particularly as vaccine adjuvants and in the realm of cancer immunotherapy. Employing a combination of system-based and mechanistic approaches, I delve into the intricate regulators of innate immune pathways to identify small molecule targets with promising therapeutic potential for a spectrum of immune-based diseases and treatment.
