Tayo is a Professional Scientific Collaborator in the Loring lab, a scientist at a local startup CalAsia Pharmaceuticals and a Masters of public health student at San Diego State University. She obtained her undergraduate degree in chemical engineering at the Unversity of Arkansas. As a graduate student in an interdisciplinary PhD program at the same institution she developed microfluidic electrochemical immunoassays on novel materials. From 2006 to 2008 she was a postdoc at UCSD bioengineering where she worked on three dimensional culture platforms for human embryonic stem cell differentiation. In 2008 -2012 she joined the Loring as a postdoc and developed a project to generate ethnically diverse pluripotent stem cells from skin biopsies and hair for drug screens.  Now as a collaborator she is working towards applying stem cell technologies for global health
