Roberto Lab Hosts International Neuroscience Conference

TSRI Professor Marisa Roberto and members of her lab planned and coordinated the conference “Alcoholism and Stress: A Framework for Future Treatment Strategies” from May 9 to 12, 2017, in Volterra, Italy.

With participants from at least 15 countries, this conference is the only international meeting of its kind. Its main goal is to establish an international effort between both basic researchers and clinicians to develop preventive strategies and pharmacotherapeutic remedies for alcohol and anxiety-related disorders. The meeting provides a platform for the world’s preeminent scientists in alcoholism and stress research to present their latest findings through plenary lectures, symposia, posters and roundtable discussions. The conference was supported by an NIH/NIAAA grant.

Join ScrippsAssists at the Fire & Safety Expo and Firefighter Demolition Derby

Join CA ScrippsAssists, the TSRI employee volunteer club, on June 3 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds for the 27th Annual Fire & Safety Expo and Firefighter Demolition Derby, in partnership with the Burn Institute. This exciting event includes “live” firefighting demonstrations, a fire and burn prevention pavilion, safety demos, a firefighter obstacle course for the kids, live music and much more.

ScrippsAssists is also putting out a call for 10 volunteers to help with morning and afternoon shifts during the expo. Admission to the San Diego County Fair and limited parking passes will be provided; therefore, carpooling is requested. Shifts include

First shift: 9:30 AM-2 PM (lunch provided)
Second shift: 1:30 PM-6:00 PM (snacks available)
All-day shift: 9:30 AM-6:00 PM (lunch provided)
