Career Workshop: Looking Professional Online

With social media now an essential component in finding and securing a job, the Career and Postdoctoral Services Office will offer a workshop on “Managing Your Online Professional Presence,” Thursday, May 31, 3:30 PM in the Human Resources training room, Suite 205 in the 3377 Building on the California campus.

Presented by Ryan Wheeler, manager, Career and Postdoctoral Services Office, the 60-minute, interactive workshop will feature hands-on overview of LinkedIn and other social media:

  • Developing an effective LinkedIn profile
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships
  • Leveraging  online networks for career success

Registration is required to attend the training. This workshop will be repeated every few months. To arrange an individual meeting, contact Wheeler, rwheller@scripps.edu, or Mike Matrone, matrone@scripps.edu, for an appointment.

CA Campus Occupational Health Services Changes Location

Starting Tuesday, May 29, the Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Center in Mira Mesa will no longer provide occupational health services for the Scripps California campus. In the event of a new work-related injury or illness, please go to the new Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Center facility in Sorrento Mesa; appointments are not required.

LOCATION
The Sorrento Mesa facility is located at 10243 Genetic Center Drive at Mira Mesa Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92121 (click for driving Directions from Scripps California).

Occupational Health Services
Monday – Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Weekends and holidays, 8 AM to 8 PM

Those who require occupational medicine procedures, but are unable to attend the monthly onsite clinics, should make an appointment at the new Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Center in Sorrento Mesa. Employees should first call EH&S (x4-8240) to receive authorization, then call Sharp Rees-Stealy at (858) 526-6150 to schedule an appointment.

Please remember to report all work-related injuries and illness to your supervisor and Human Resources within eight hours of the event. During holidays and after hours, please report the incident to Security (x4-2000) within eight hours. Please contact EH&S (x4-8240) or Human Resources (x4-8534) if you have any questions or concerns.
