Investigators Hugh Rosen and Michael McHeyzer-Williams, who
share contiguous laboratory space at TSRI, designed a "pilot"
experiment that drew on Rosen's expertise in chemical biology
and McHeyzer-Williams's expertise in flow cytometry. When
they analyzed the results, they saw that they had something
completely new.
