TSRI Celebrates Employees’ Milestones

In 1966, Professor Michael Oldstone joined The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI), then known as Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, as a postdoctoral fellow. This year, Oldstone, whose studies on how viruses cause disease and the role of the immune system in protection or injury led to his election to the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Medicine, marks a half-century of affiliation with the institute.

This month TSRI recognizes Oldstone and 204 other faculty and staff (171 in California, 34 in Florida) with milestone anniversaries of service to the institute of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years. Honorees receive an original hand-crafted crystal tower at the five-year service milestone and an additional crystal block at each subsequent five-year period of service.
