
Aleks Baranczak, PhD
Aleks Baranczak is the Associate Director, Alliances and Program Management at Scripps Research. Aleks oversees a portfolio of early-stage programs at Calibr, a drug discovery division of Scripps Research, and is responsible for establishment and management of partnerships and alliances with biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to joining Scripps, Aleks worked as the scientist and group leader in the Discovery organization of the pharmaceutical company AbbVie. In this role, she was responsible for development and implementation of technologies applied in support of small molecule drug discovery programs across therapeutic areas at AbbVie. She later joined the University of Chicago where as the Associate Director, Research Development she oversaw initiatives leading to creation of multi-institutional research centers and institutes. At the Translational Institute, Aleks leads collaborative screening projects focused on drug repurposing.
Aleks received her PhD in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University followed by postdoctoral studies in chemical biology at Scripps Research.
