What is EthicsPoint®:

EthicsPoint® is TSRI's anonymous and confidential reporting system to communicate misconduct and promote a positive work environment.

What to Report:

Reports about ethical violations involving TSRI personnel or property are limited to the following violation categories: accounting and auditing matters, conflicts of interest, diverting of products or business opportunities, embezzlement, falsification of contracts, reports or records, fraud, improper giving or receiving of gifts, improper lobbying or political contribution, improper supplier or contractor activity, insider trading, misuse of TSRI resources, research misconduct, and theft. A description of each of these violation categories is provided on the EthicsPoint® "How to File a Report". Frivolous or unfounded reports do not help foster a positive workplace.

If a TSRI employee is uncertain if a situation falls within any of the reportable violation categories, the employee is asked to call EthicsPoint® to obtain clarification. TSRI would rather have the employee ask than let potential problems go unchecked. However, EthicsPoint® should not be used for immediate threats to life or property. These types of reports should be directed to 911 or TSRI Security.

What Not to Report:

Ethical violations relating to all other incidents of misconduct not covered by the above list, including sexual harassment, discrimination, grievances, authorship disputes, substance abuse, safety, environmental concerns, facility security issues and privacy violations, should be reported to a supervisor, department chair, Human Resources, or other relevant TSRI party.

How to File a Report:

A caller will place a call to the TSRI-dedicated EthicsPoint® toll-free hotline telephone number at 1-866-493-1847. An operator will enter the caller's responses to a set of questions into the EthicsPoint® system, so the caller should have the necessary facts and details available when calling. The telephone hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

48 Hour Follow-up:

At the end of the report, the compliance specialist will ask the caller to create a password. The EthicsPoint® system will then generate an identification code called a "Report Key." The caller should return to the TSRI-dedicated EthicsPoint® toll-free hotline telephone number at 1-866-493-1847 within 48 hours of filing the original report. The caller will give the operator the password and "Report Key" to review and reply to any response from TSRI and/or request for further information. This follow up, or dialog phase, can continue as long as required or desired.
