Title: Technology Development Coordinator

Duties: Processing manuscripts, technology disclosures, and funding proposals from The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) investigators as their liaison to corporate partners.

Goal: To route information to the appropriate corporate partner(s) in a timely and accurate manner. "While we do require some paperwork, the Office of Technology Development is here to protect TSRI scientists' long-term interests."

Favorite Part of the Job: "Interacting with different types of people."

Started at TSRI: 1996

First position: Part-time administrative assistant in the Office of Technology Development.

Promoted to Current Position: May 2001.

Education: B.A. in behavioral science, National University, May 2000. Currently taking classes towards a master's degree in human behavior.

Greatest Accomplishment: Completing her bachelor's degree, a process that took 10 years due to work and family obligations.

Greatest (and Favorite!) Responsibility: Parenting her nine-year-old daughter and three step-sons.

Extracurriculars: Volunteering with her daughter to visit the elderly who do not have other visitors. "It has given my daughter a greater appreciation for all that she has." Also, outdoor family activities such as water skiing, relaxing at the beach, and camping.
