Pejman Mohammadi, PhD

Associate Professor, Scripps Research

Pejman Mohammadi is a computational biologist with a background primarily in statistical machine learning and probabilistic data modeling. Mohammadi is passionate about the design and study of statistical and mathematical models to enhance our understanding and facilitate decision-making in modern biomedical research applications. In particular, he is interested in practical and theoretical issues that arise in genomics and personalized medicine. Currently, his work is focused on analysis of regulatory variation in the genome and its application to rare diseases. Additionally, he is interested in application of modern technologies, including data from wearable sensors, and other large-scale health related data to personalized medicine.

Mohammadi obtained his doctoral degree in Computational Biology from ETH Zurich (2014) and carried out postdoctoral work at the New York Genome Center and Columbia University (2015-2017). Mohammadi joined Scripps Research as an assistant professor in January 2018.
