The Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (CBB) group has two educational goals in mind.

First, we seek to train computational scientists to do world-class scientific research.

Second, we train experimental scientists in fundamental computational and statistical principles.  These skills will help scientists perform basic analyses on the data that they generate, and also improve collaborations with computational scientists when more sophisticated methods are required.

To support these objectives, the CBB and the graduate program welcome and encourage applicants from computational and quantitative backgrounds.  We have created an outstanding and customized curriculum that can be tailored both to students who are either choosing to specialize in CBB, as well as to those who need basic CBB skills in the context of their experimental research.
