Addiction Affinity Group

TSRI Addiction Affinity Group aims to foster scientific exchange between TSRI investigators and trainees whose research interests relate to drugs of abuse and addictive disorders - a community that transcends the boundaries of department affiliation.

A core activity of the Addiction Affinity Group is to organize a seminar series hosting leaders and rising stars in the fields of addiction, stress, and motivated behaviors. Time is allowed for guest speakers to interact with TSRI faculty and trainees during one-on-one meetings and meals. An important aspect of this series is to give graduate students and postdoctoral fellows the opportunity to meet with guest speakers not only for scientific discussion but also to gain various perspectives on career development and advancement strategies.

We encourage suggestions from colleagues to nominate speakers and to propose additional networking or brainstorming initiatives. Speaker nominations and requests to meet with scheduled speakers should be sent to Dr. Contet (contet@scripps.edu).

Unless otherwise stated, seminars are held at 12 pm on Fridays in 3040 Science Park Road, first floor conference room. Attendance is open to all in the San Diego scientific community. Free parking is available on the street.
