A Joyful Procession

As strains of "Pomp and Circumstance" fill the air, the procession begins. Led by President Richard Lerner and Dean Jeff Kelly, the group of honorary degree recipients, graduating students, faculty, and current students march across the La Jolla campus. As the group continues east through the tunnel under North Torrey Pines Road to the angular architecture of The Neurosciences Institute, friends, family, and well-wishers wait for signs of the marchers' entrance into The Neurosciences Institute auditorium.
