Over the last five years, the JCSG has constructed a unique, production-oriented, high-throughput structure determination pipeline. The first 2-3 years of PSI-1 were devoted mainly to technology development and integration but, over the last two years, the JCSG-1 pipeline has become fully functional and has demonstrated significant output capacity. To date, 219 new protein structures have been determined including identification of 18 novel folds and 25 novel features which in total account for more than 30 new structural superfamilies.
