Zippers and Other Surprises

Samples included pieces of the natural world—plants and insects, feathers, sand—as well as a few unexpected specimens—Doritos, a zipper, and a tongue. Then, students tested their own samples, including a snake skin, a live gecko (their class pet, Chica), a guitar pick, and a five dollar bill.
