Sherman to Speak in Faculty Lecture Series
Scripps Research Institute Professor Linda Sherman will speak on "Using an Autoimmune Disease to Inform Immunotherapy," on Wednesday, January 14, as part of the Faculty Lecture Series. The lecture will be held at 5 PM in the Valerie Timken Amphitheater, Scripps Clinic, 10666 North Torrey Pines Road.

In the Mail: Health Plan Cards for 2004
New health plan cards are being mailed to employees' homes early this month. Last year, Human Resources started using six-digit Scripps Research ID numbers in place of Social Security numbers for processing prescription claims. This year, the ID numbers can also be used for medical, vision, and mental health claims. The dental plan will continue to use Social Security numbers for processing claims, but may begin to use ID numbers in 2005. Employees should discard their old cards and replace them with the new cards immediately as the back of the new card contains new claim submittal instructions. Institutional Biosafety Committee Meeting Scheduled
The next meeting of the Institutional Biosafety Committee will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 in the Tennis Court Room of the Faculty Club, Building 3300 at 2:30 P.M.
