With another grant from the National Science Foundation and the National
Institutes of Health, Olson's lab is pursuing a project called Tangible
Interfaces for Molecular Biology, which entails building models and
using them as interfaces for a computational environment. The goal is
to determine how people can use physical models to understand complex
structures—especially if they are not experts in structural biology
themselves.
