Department: BioMedical Graphics

Duties: Illustration and design, including graphs, charts, diagrams, journal and book covers, presentations, and computer animation.

Goal: "To help TSRI scientists and staff communicate their information in the best possible way."

Started at TSRI: 1983

Biggest Change in the Last 20 Years: "I used to use paper and pen to do my job. Now everything is computer-based..."

Thoughts on her Job: "I can't imagine doing anything else! There's a good group in BioMedical Graphics and TSRI is a great place to work."

Background: One year at Western State College in Colorado as an art major. Associate degree in visual communication from Ames Community College in Colorado. Work experience in graphic design with Hewlett Packard, La Jolla Light newspaper, and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Continuing education at UCSD to keep up on the ever-changing technology in graphic arts.

Extracurriculars: Remodeling her condo in Pacific Beach. Playing golf. Traveling. "My goal in the next ten years is to travel every opportunity I can get—especially to tropical islands!"
