The new space features a 13-room, state-of-the-art light microscopy
suite, which Fowler calls "fantastic and probably the best anywhere."
Assistant Professor Clare Waterman-Storer (shown here) comments, "I've
been all over the world teaching microscopy, and I've never seen a facility
like this one. Its unique features include separate temperature control
and air handling for each room, special venting for the mercury lamps,
and remote-controlled lighting. The sheer quantity of microscopes in
one place is also remarkable. [The new facility] will attract a lot
of attention in the field of cell biology and the microscopy industry."
