Wilkes requested the scientists' input into the design, which combines
several laboratories into one contiguous space and features many shared
facilities.
"The investigators applied the characteristics that make them good
scientists to the design process," says Milgrim. "They demonstrated
a commitment to search for the best solution, attention to detail, and
ability to anticipate future needs, of which all contributed to the
successful design of the laboratory space."
