Jessica TorruellaTitle: Junior research technician in the Ginsberg lab. 
        Duties: Making proteins for the Protein Core Facility, scientists 
        in the lab, and the lab's research collaborators. Keeping records and 
        samples of each batch. Supporting the scientists and the lab in general. 
        Started at TSRI: 1997, as a part-time dishwasher for the lab 
        as she was completing high school. 
        Education: Will graduate from San Diego State University in 2002 
        as an international business major. Classes included those on Western 
        Europe, Spanish, and Biology 101. "The lab portion was a joke compared 
        to what I do here!" 
        Favorite Part of the Job: "The people. And the freedom of science 
        from the emphasis on getting the job done rather than how many hours you 
        spend doing it." 
        Career Goals: Pharmaceutical sales. "I'm going to be doing an 
        internship in the field that should help me decide whether this is the 
        right direction for me." 
        Extracurriculars: Tennis, yoga, and taking care of her dog, Rusty, 
        and cat, Audrey.
