Ceremony Dedicates Two New Institutes at TSRI

A ceremony on Friday, October 19, dedicated two new institutes on The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) campus: the Institute for Childhood and Neglected Diseases (ICND) and the Helen L. Dorris Institute for the Study of Neurological and Psychiatric Disorders of Children and Adolescents.

The ICND was founded to apply new molecular understanding of biology on an unprecedented level to address recalcitrant illnesses in two major categories—childhood diseases, and neglected diseases that affect populations primarily in developing countries.

The Helen L. Dorris Institute was recently established to uncover the pathological basis of neurological and psychiatric disorders and to enable therapeutic approaches to be developed.
