The Scripps Research Institute is Recipient of Clubmom Dollar Drive For Charity

La Jolla, CA, June 6, 2005—The Scripps Research Institute has been selected as one of the leading nonprofit organizations in the United States to participate in the ClubMom Dollar Drive for Charity initiative. For every mom recruited by Scripps Research to join ClubMom between now and March 31, 2006, ClubMom will donate $1 to the Institute.

ClubMom is the free national membership organization for moms, whose mission is to recognize, reward and celebrate moms every day. By bringing moms together, ClubMom is able to secure exclusive rewards, savings and perks for its members from hundreds of America's best companies. ClubMom also provides moms with "cut-through-the-clutter" information through its Resource Center where experts and real moms provide top-quality advice, tips and tools to moms. In addition, ClubMom provides a platform for moms' voices to be heard across the nation.

Upon registration, ClubMom will donate $1 to the charity of the mom's choice among many nationally recognized charities, including The Scripps Research Institute.  All moms are encouraged to sign up for the ClubMom Dollar Drive For Charity through March 31, 2006.

To make an even greater difference, ClubMom will also donate 1% of what existing members spend with participating merchants in the ClubMom Online Mall to the charity of their choice, including the Institute, from May 2, 2005 through March 31, 2006.

ClubMom Make A Difference National Awards

ClubMom has created a prestigious national award that recognizes the amazing work moms do every day to make a difference.  ClubMom will honor five moms who have made a difference in remarkable ways during its first annual ClubMom Make a Difference National Awards ceremony, which will take place in New York City in time for Mother's Day 2006.  Award recipients will win a free trip to the ceremony, special prizes and awards, and will get a special "thank you" from mistress of ceremonies Meredith Vieira.
