Education:
B.S., Biochemistry, Washington State University, 1996
Ph.D., Chemistry, University of Minnesota, 2007

Current Research Focus:
My research has been focused on expanding the knowledge of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase biology with opportunities for therapeutic interventions:

  • Understanding ex-translational activities of Tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase and Tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase.
  • Elucidating novel biology of a splice variant of Alanyl-tRNA synthetase.
  • Investigating proofreading mechanism that prevents the production of toxic protein aggregates caused by mistranslation.
