Our lab pursues the development of new reaction methodology in response to challenges in total synthesis. Methods developed by our group aim to address long-standing synthetic challenges with efficiency and practicality. Acyclic diastereoselective syntheses and intramolecular Diels Alder reactions are of especial interest. Of recent note, the group has engineered a method for the traditionally difficult mismatched double asymmetric crotylboration of β-branched aldehydes. Additional recent methods include procedures to construct γ-substituted (Z)-allylic boranes, (E)- δ -stannyl homoallylic alcohols and (E)-1,5-syn-Diols.
