Center for Mass Spectrometry
The expansion of TSRI's mass spectrometry lab has kept pace with advances in
the field itself. As new techniques have been developed, the institute has
found itself on the cutting edge with instruments capable of performing
measurements with high sensitivity and a mass range of up to 200,000 Da.
With these capabilities, the lab can now routinely analyze compounds such as
oligonucleotides, carbohydrates, peptides, proteins, drugs, and a variety of
small biomolecules.
The instruments that allow for these analyses include a high resolution FTMS
mass spectrometer and an Agilent LC ESI-TOF, an ESI triple quadrupole,
multiple ESI single quadrupole and ESI ion traps as well as MALDI
TOF-reflectron mass spectrometers.
