Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
A variety of research activities at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) involve animals. Extensive effort is made to provide excellent care for animals used in research and to minimize procedures that have potential for discomfort, distress, or pain.
The purpose of this site is to provide information for those conducting research involving animals at TSRI. All research activities must conform to the statutes of the Animal Welfare Act and the guidelines of the Public Health Service as issued in the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (revised 1996). This site provides information to help investigators at TSRI comply with all legal requirements and provides documents with and links to information that can help improve the quality of research involving animals.
