Occupational Medicine Animal Exposure Program

TSRI provides an occupational medicine program for all who work with or around research animals. The program is provided according to guidelines published in the latest edition of the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (commonly referred to as "the Guide"). The Guide is the key resource for the research community and IACUCs for all aspects of animal use and care.

TSRI requires anyone, including outside vendors and contractors, who wish to enter a TSRI animal facility or to work in an area where research animals are located, to be provided with information regarding the program as well as an opportunity to have specific health concerns reviewed by an occupational medicine physician.

The policy and the risk assessment form are provided annually to TSRI employees who have exposure to research animals. The links below provide additional information.
