Laser Safety

It is the policy of TSRI to require that all lasers and laser systems be operated in accordance with all applicable regulations as well as the guidance found within the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z136.1, Standard for the Safe Use of Lasers. The primary objective of TSRI's Laser Safety Program is to ensure that radiation exposures resulting from laser use are minimized and that under no circumstance does the radiation exposure reaching the human eye and/or skin exceed the maximum permissible exposure limit; additionally, the Laser Safety Program has been designed to ensure adequate protection from collateral hazards such as electrical shock, fire, chemical exposure, etc.
