Mission

It is the mission of the EH&S Department to facilitate a safe and healthful work environment conducive to performing biomedical research.

Philosophy

TSRI's Environmental Health and Safety Program utilizes an integrated approach to safety. It is our belief that all safety programs and issues are interrelated and that we can provide the best service while maintaining the highest level of safety by assigning a Safety Coordinator to a department or departments. Each Safety Coordinator has a wide breadth of knowledge covering all aspects of safety germane to the TSRI Environment. In addition, each Safety Coordinator has his or her own specific area of expertise; consequently they serve as technical resources for one another. The Safety Coordinators are supported by an Industrial Hygienist, Biosafety Officer, Radiation Safety Officer, and Department Director. Each of these individuals brings additional technical expertise and experience to TSRI's Environmental Health and Safety Program.
