Hazard Communication
All employees have a right to know the hazards of the materials they
work with. While the Laboratory Standard and the Chemical Hygiene
Plan addresses hazards for laboratory employees, other employees who
work outside the labs are covered by the Cal-OSHA Hazard Communication
Standard. This includes office staff, EVS, and Facilities employees.
TSRI has a written Hazard
Communication (HazComm) Program which addresses hazard evaluations,
chemical labeling, material safety data sheets (MSDSs), chemical lists
for work areas, and training. Refer to the HazComm Program for more
information about accessing MSDSs and understanding the hazard awareness
information provided.
