Research Focus

X-ray crystallographic studies of antibody-antigen complexes

My research is focused on x-ray crystallographic studies of antibody-antigen complexes, with an emphasis on antibodies that neutralize the HIV-1 virus. By studying the detailed structures of these complexes we can better understand how antibodies recognize their antigens, and how to design antigens to elicit an effective anti-viral response.
