The yellowtail LINUX Server

TSRI has an SGI Altix 3700 LINUX server with 128 Intel Itanium 1.3 GHz processors, 128 GBytes of memory and a 1 TeraByte disk array. Jobs running on this LINUX server are managed by PBS. An account on this server is available to anyone with a valid TSRI email account. To request an account, email wyoung@scripps.edu

Compilation issues

This machine has the intel compiler and the GNU toolkit.

Checkpoint/restart

At the present time Linux does not have the same Checkpoint/Restart feature that Irix has. However, many applications offer built-in checkpoint and restart support. These are listed below.
