Exchange 2007 Migration

IT Services is in the process of deploying a new Microsoft Exchange 2007 e-mail system to host email for those TSRI employees who use Exchange. This upgrade will provide our Exchange users with improved system reliability over the older Exchange 2003 product. Information addressing the changes users can expect to see between Exchange 2003 and 2007 is available at Exchange 2007 Enhancements.

This message provides transition information for California Exchange users only.

Outlook Web Access

IT Services is in the process of deploying a new Microsoft Exchange 2007 email system to host email for those TSRI employees who use Exchange; providing a significant upgrade to our existing Exchange 2003 product. This information is intended to help you in the event you have questions about the improved OWA email access.

Exchange users may access their e-mail both from their TSRI desktop in "native" mode as well as from a web browser through a tool called "Outlook Web Access" or "OWA". As part of the new Exchange 2007 upgrade, an improved version of OWA for Internet Explorer is offered. Both the current and the updated OWA systems are accessible via http://owa.scripps.edu.

Current OWA users will notice an updated login screen, but the remainder of the experience will look and function the same. While we do not anticipate any problems, if you need assistance please contact the IT Services help desk either by calling (858) 784-9369 or by sending an e-mail message to helpdesk@scripps.edu.
