Citrix Web Interface
To use the Citrix Web Interface, first browse to http://citrix.scripps.edu.
You will see the Citrix login page.
To choose your web "Client Type", first click "Advanced Options".
Client for Java
This is the default Client Type.
Note: Printer
mapping, which is required for printing from Citrix applications,
is not available in the Client for Java on Unix or Mac OS X.
Safari/Mac OS X
Client for Java is the only option with Safari.
This works "out of the box" on Mac OS X; no additional software required.
Firefox
Mac OS X
Firefox does not work properly with the Client for Java on Mac OS X.
Linux
Client for Java usually works "out of the box" with most modern Linux distributions,
provided that Firefox and a Java Runtime, including the Java plugin,
are installed.
Solaris
Client for Java requires Java Runtime to be installed, which can be obtained from
java.sun.com.
Install the Firefox web browser from http://www.mozilla.org.
As root, you will need to copy or symlink the Java plugin into Firefox's plugins directory.
The plugin is called "libjavaplugin_oji.so" and is located in the Java installation directory under plugin/sparc/ns7. The Firefox plugins directory is /opt/swf/lib/firefox/plugins.
For example, if you're using the Java Runtime 1.5.0.9 package, the plugin is here:
/opt/jre1.5.0_09/plugin/sparc/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Client for Java requires Java Runtime to be installed, which can be obtained from
java.sun.com.
Local Client
This option requires that the standalone Citrix client be installed.
The browser launches the standalone client, passing it the information it needs to launch the selected application.
On Mac OS X, this option is not available in Safari. To use this option in Mac OS X, use Firefox.
ActiveX Control (Embedded)
This option is only available in Microsoft Internet Explorer on Windows.
Vista Users: You will need to install a Citrix Web Client package to use the ActiveX client on Vista.
To download the client, right-click the following link:
Citrix Web Client
and select "Save Target As...", then save the file to your desktop.
The file is called "ica32web.msi"; locate it on your desktop and double-click it to install the client. Follow
the prompts and when done, reboot.
