Research in our laboratory is focusing
on two important questions in Neuroscience:
I- How is the mammalian brain getting connected properly during development?
II- What are the genetic mechanisms underlying the human-specific aspects of brain development?
We think that providing answers to these important questions will improve our understanding of the developmental mechanisms underlying socially-devastating neurodevelopmental disorders ranging from epilepsy, severe mental retardation and autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
