Scientists at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) continue to make progress in the quest to understand the fundamental processes of life and advance human health. In 2014 – among many other groundbreaking achievements – they made strides in fighting heart disease and halting tumor growth, discovered a vulnerable site on the HIV virus that could lead to the development of a vaccine and a protein that could help ward off Alzheimer's, and even identified weak spots on the surface of the Ebola virus that could lead to future treatments.
