Andrea Nold Wins Bristol-Myers Squibb Graduate Fellowship
Andrea Nold, a Ph.D. candidate in The Scripps Research Institute's Kellogg School of Science and Technology, has been chosen as the recipient of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Graduate Fellowship in Synthetic Organic Chemistry. According to Bristol-Myers Squibb, fellows are chosen based on "demonstrated academic and research achievements and their potential for significant future accomplishments."


Pick-Wei Lau Wins American Heart Association Fellowship
Pick-Wei Lau, a Ph.D. candidate in the Scripps Research Kellogg School, has received a predoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association. A total of 23 applications were funded out of 85 applications reviewed for the program. With the grant, Lau will determine the structure and mechanism of the RISC-loading complex responsible in microRNA maturation using cryo-electron microscopy.
