Mackman Joins NIH Strategic Planning Group
The Scripps Research Institute's Associate Professor Nigel Mackman has been invited to join the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute strategic planning group focusing on the "Central Role of Inflammation in Ischemic Disorders." The group will meet in Bethesda on June 29.


Pfeiffer Foundation Grant Awarded to Three First-Year Students
The Gustavus and Louise Pfeiffer Research Foundation grant will pay the stipends of three first-year Ph.D. candidates at the Scripps Research Kellogg School of Science and Technology: Sophie Rozenzhak, Jennifer Treweek, and Stanislav Presolski. The Gustavus and Louise Pfeiffer Research Foundation makes grants to tax exempt institutions for projects or programs carried out in the United States for advancement of medicine and pharmacy, including scientific research, post-graduate scholarship and fellowship assistance, and studies in nutrition, blindness, deafness, and other physical disabilities.
