Title: Outreach and Instructional Librarian, Kresge Library.

Duties: Heightening awareness within the Scripps Research community of the library's resources, including collections, electronic subscriptions, and services. Working with the other librarians to show Scripps Research postdocs, students, faculty, and staff—both one-on-one and in groups—how to make the most of what the library has to offer.

Started at Scripps Research: September 1, 2005 .

Education: B.S. in biology with minors in physics and psychology from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, M.L.I.S. (masters in library and information science) from Louisiana State University. Work as a reference librarian in engineering, physics, and chemistry at New Mexico State University. "I was pursuing my doctoral degree in microbiology at Louisiana State University when I realized I enjoyed the information side of research more than the bench work. Library science has given me the opportunity to keep my hand in the sciences while teaching and sharing knowledge with others."

First Impressions of Scripps Research: "So far, I have loved working here. The people I have met are great and really enthusiastic about their science."

Extracurriculars: Volunteering with community theater groups, both acting and supporting productions. Playing board and strategy games. Watching movies, especially romantic comedies and science fiction.
