LA JOLLA, CA – August 1, 2012 – The Auditorium at TSRI, a 352-seat, acoustically renowned facility on the Torrey Pines Mesa, is now available to commercial, corporate, and nonprofit groups to rent for the upcoming season from October 1, 2012, through September 30, 2013.
“We are delighted to open the facility for booking dates after October 1,” said William Burfitt, director of philanthropy at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI), “and we are pleased to offer significant discounts to nonprofit arts and educational groups this season in recognition of their important role in the community.”
The auditorium, currently under lease to The Neurosciences Institute, will revert by mutual agreement to TSRI’s management on October 1, 2012. Situated at 10640 John Jay Hopkins Drive, the auditorium offers celebrated acoustics, theater seating, and elegant contemporary architecture. Onsite event parking, reception area, and dining patio are available adjacent to the auditorium.
The auditorium’s rental rate for business or other special events is $3,000 per evening. A subsidized rate of $1,500 per evening is now being offered to qualified nonprofit groups, including performing arts organizations and educational groups that focus on science or aesthetic matters.
