San Diego Students to Present Research from Summer Internships at The Scripps Research Institute

WHAT: 25 high-achieving high school students (juniors and seniors), many of whom are the first in their families to be headed for college, will give brief (~15 minute) presentations highlighting their work in Scripps Research laboratories this summer. Attending the interns' presentations will be their scientific mentors, family, and friends. Due to limited seating, this event is not open to the public.

Interns work alongside Scripps Research scientists on topics ranging from cancer biology and AIDS research to synthetic chemistry and neuroscience. Additional internships are offered on campus for undergraduate students.

WHEN: Thursday, August 12, 2010, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

WHERE: Timken Auditorium of Green Hospital, 10660 North Torrey Pines, La Jolla, CA 92037.
