Margaret Johnson obtained her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada, with Professor B. Mario Pinto. Her thesis work focused on the use of NMR spectroscopy in conjunction with molecular modeling to investigate biomolecular protein-ligand interactions, with a special focus on molecular mimicry and its applications in the design of vaccines and drugs. Her current work at TSRI in Professor Wüthrich's group involves protein structure determination by NMR, in the context of structural proteomics.

Research Interests

My research focuses on studies of protein structure and dynamics and protein-ligand interactions by solution NMR spectroscopy, and more generally, the structural biology and structural genomics of biomedically-relevant proteins.
