Find a Specific Article Using ELLeN - the Library Catalog.

  • Go to ELLeN at http://scripps-libraries.worldcat.org/
  • Type in the Journal title and click Search or hit the ENTER key.
  • Several records appears showing electronic versions as well as print holdings.
  •       
  • If we have the journal, the record will show "The Scripps Research Institute Libraries".
  • Click on the title of the eJournal version.

  •       
  • Click on the blue year link for access to the publisher website or main journal index page. Browse or search the journal's website for the article.
  • Come to the library for print journals and photocopy the article.
  • If we do not own the journal or the issue you need, order it through ILLiad
  • at http://scripps.hosts.atlas-sys.com/illiad/logon.html

Find a Specific Article Using the Journal List.

  • Go to the Journal List at http://sfxhosted.exlibrisgroup.com/green/az
  • Click on the first letter of the journal title.
  • Scroll down to find the journal.
  • NOTE: Words like "the", "of", "a" are included within the title, but not at the beginning.
    •    i.e. to search for "The Journal of the American College of Cardiology" begin with "J"
      and look after "Journal of Surgical Technique"

    •       
  • If the journal is not in the Journal List, order the article through ILLiad
    at http://scripps.hosts.atlas-sys.com/illiad/logon.html
  • Each entry includes links to electronic access via our SFX@GREEN tools.

  •       
  • To find a specific, known article, click on the "SFX@GREEN" link.

  •       
  • Enter the year, volume, issue and start page of the article in the small boxes that appear.
  • Then click on the blue link just above the boxes.
  • Or simply click the blue link and search the journal's website for the article.

Finding a Specific Article Using PubMed Single Citation Matcher.

  • Go to PubMed for Green Hospital at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?otool=scrgrnlib
  • Click on the Single Citation Matcher link in the left menu.
  • Enter the full Journal title, year, volume and first page.
  • You do not need to fill in every field.
  • Click GO.

  •       
  • When the article abstract is displayed, look for the "SFX@GREEN" button on the right.

  •       
  • SFX opens a new window and displays a menu of options

  •       
  • Click on the appropriate blue link.

Searching for Articles Using PubMed specialized for Green Hospital.

  • Go to PubMed for Green Hospital at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?otool=scrgrnlib
  • Type in your search terms.
  • Click on the authors for an article.
  • When the article abstract is displayed, look for the "SFX@GREEN" button on the right.

  •       
  • SFX opens a new window and displays a menu of options

  •       
  • Click on the appropriate blue link.

Searching for Articles Using Ovid Medline

  • Go to Ovid at http://ovidsp.ovid.com/autologin.
  • Click on "Ovid Medline"
  • Type in your search term.
  • Select a MeSH Term.
  • Click "Continue"
  • Select any subheadings. Click Continue.

  •       
  • When the list of results appears, Click on the "Ovid Full Text" link to the right of each article, if available.
  • For those without the "Ovid Full Text" link, click on the "SFX@Green" button.

  •       
  • SFX opens a new window and displays a menu of options

  •       
  • Click on the appropriate blue link.
